I was born in 1943 and raised in Braintree, MA just 15 miles south of Boston. At 19, I joined the US Marine Corps and spent 6 years in the Marines with 2 years (64–66) in Vietnam, this was before the United States entered the conflict with the North Vietnamese in 1965.
After the Marines, I went to work for American Airlines as a reservation agent and retired 25 years later as the Western Division Director of Special Services. After a few years of semi-retirement, I went to work for the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Irving, Texas as the Resident Manager. I spent 6 years in TX and decided to retire for good and returned to California. I joined the Marine Corps League in Simi Valley, California. I rose through the ranks and became Detachment Commandant in 2017. A year and a half later, I was elected to be Commandant for the State of California. I am now the Adjutant for the Southwest Division of the Marine Corps League. I am married to a wonderful lady for 53 years. We have 3 sons (my middle son was killed in a car accident) and we have 4 fantastic grandchildren.
